Cheetah Marine Innovation

Innovation is at the heart of Cheetah Marine from Hydrogen powered propulsion to 100% electric propulsion with large capacity in-hull batteries. Future innovation will see semi foil as a retrofit package and full foiling carbon fibre vessels.

  • The Cheetah-e

    Introducing the Cheetah-e

In 2021 Cheetah Marine has launched a new 100% electric range including vessels which are ASV (autonomous) ready, powered by twin eletcric outboards (a joint venture project) with an optional hydrogen fuel cell (range extender).

Cruise speed recommendations are 18-20 knots with a top speed of 30 knots+.

  • Cheetah-e Specifications

    11.5m x 4.3m Cheetah-e
    2x 750v 150kw battery packs. Twin 270Nm 130kW outboards - Target Range 80Km+
    2x 900v 180kw battery packs. Twin 320Nm 145kW outboards - Target Range 100Km+

Values subject to testing and system efficiency (hull and electronics) - Batteries & Outboards subject to 2 years commercial warranty with CE Certification.

  • Cheetah-e Key Notes

User Interface: All systems come with a range display coupled with GPS (live feed) plus customised options for the operator with “waypoints” uploaded. System alerts for endurance and other key performance data included as standard.

System Batteries: Water cooled utilising a sea water heat exchanger, constructed using maritime approved components and techniques. All battery packs/modules are fully sealed from sea water and have dry quick disconnects allowing easy maintenance on the system.

PV Array: Optional partial or full solar roof powering onboard 12v/24v services and/or propulsion battery trickle charge

100% e-Outboard JV

100% Electric Outboard Development

Technology Developed “in-house” with our Joint Venture partner EV Marine who is part owned by Cheetah Marine.

Full Production commences Q4 2021 for the electric outboards with system fully integrated with a Cheetah Vessel to allow for full system efficiency optimisation. Range of Cheetah fitted with an electric outboard will be greater than a retrofit package.

Derived from Honda 200V6 Four Stroke 2021 outboard with Honda Marine’s co-operation - Short Supply runs to be supplied from the UK or Portugal (depending on end use destination).

Large supply runs: Licenced opportunity to assemble integrated Cheetah vessels and outboard motors on-site at ‘customer locations’

Future support of Cheetah Customers will see Cheetah Marine customers to have preferential aftermarket engine pricing and support on both conventional and electric outboard motors.

Hydrogen Propulsion R&D

Utilising a Honda ‘four-stroke’ outboard engine powered by compressed Hydrogen at 350 BAR, with pressure reduction into the direct injection system.

Outboard Engine utilised H2 injectors and twin ECU to manage Gasoline and Hydrogen. Engine integration was undertaken by Cheetah Marine at its UK HQ. Hydrogen tanks were deck mounted.

Foiling Cheetah

Cheetah Marine is ready to design, build and commission a fully foiling, 100% electric Cheetah alongside deploying an innovative integration solution for the propulsion package.
